One of the leading causes of divorce is money. In the episode Barbara and Dena talk about how to redefine life after divorce, the importance of having conversations about money while dating, and how to handle money in 2nd and 3rd marriages. The conversations may not be easy – but they are so worth it!

Dena Silliman Nielson, J.D. is the author of Common Sense Divorce: Ten Steps to Save You Time, Money, and Worry. A retired family law attorney who practiced law for almost 25 years, Ms. Nielson’s mission is to help those in divorce know how to survive the process and thrive in their new normal. To further this effort, Ms. Nielson has developed an online course, Common Sense Divorce: Divorce with Dignity and Regain Your Happiness and Self-Worth. Ms. Nielson currently resides in Whitney, Texas with her husband, Bill, and their little dog, Buddy. The Nielson’s have 5 children and 5 grandchildren all of whom reside in Colorado.
