Self Worth Journey with Tonia Winchester
Manage episode 327694922 series 3336652
What a fascinating journey to go on with Tonia to see how becoming an advocate for herself helped her to discover and heal her body of excruciating pain every month during her bleed. We talk about how it started and what it took to go to the doctor for another opinion, how society has taught us that 'doctors are always right' and we are taught to 'trust them'. Some favourite topics we cover are timeline clearing and what trauma is and how we can distinguish between 'Big T' and 'Little T' trauma. Some of my favourite quotes from this journey:
*'So many women can resonate with a story of not having the best menstrual cycles.'
*'That is just who you are and that is so disheartening.'
*'I had never asked to be referred, that advocacy for myself, I didn't have it in me at that time'.
*'I was scared all the time, in fear all the time, of what the next period would be like.'
*'I was feeling hopeless.'
*'This fall has been miraculous and I don't feel afraid all of the time.'
ABOUT TONIA:
Dr. Tonia Winchester has been in practice as a Naturopathic Doctor since 2007. Now, as a brain-based transformation coach, she uses contemporary neurological reprogramming techniques to help women break through burnout, stress, anxiety, and fatigue and find joy and energy again so that they can create exceptional lives for themselves, their families and communities. She guides her clients through a "Breakthrough" process where they easily and gently clear the past, and recode their unconscious minds so that they are primed to make and sustain positive changes in how they take care of themselves. The results are a strengthened connection to self - more self-love, worth, and value, ultimately allowing them to build happy, meaningful relationships and compelling futures. Tonia has been featured on CTV, the Costco Connection, The Elephant Journal, Conscious Nutrition, The Autoimmune Simplified Podcast, the Better Sex Podcast, Creative Conversations, and the New Generation Entrepreneur Podcast. She is an executive contributor at Brainz Magazine writing monthly articles. When she's not transforming lives she is getting lost (and found) in the forest, salsa dancing, and turning paper into pretty things.
