That occurred back in 1989, now in present day Mike O’Donnell (Matthew Perry) is struggling with his career, cannot connect with his kids Alex played by Sterling Knight or Maggie played by Michelle Trachtenberg, and he has a failing marriage with Scarlet played by Leslie Mann. All of this comes to a head as Mike finds himself back at his old high school and after meeting a sage janitor his body is swapped back to his high school self (Zac Efron) so he can relive his high school days alongside his actual children who attend the same school.
