You may worry that Auntie Kiki will label this behavior as rude, but in reality, if the invitation was not clear enough, that is the hosts' fault, not yours. Etiquette coach Kiki Astor will answer listeners' most burning etiquette and social skills questions, such as, is a digital invitation ever appropriate? How do I phrase my invitation? How do you save money on invitations? How do you curate a guest list, be it for a gala evening, a wedding, a cocktail party or a backyard BBQ? What about RSVP's? And how do I deal with not being invited to an event? Which will lead us to a discussion of FOMO and her glamorous older cousin, JOMO, otherwise known as the Joy Of Missing Out.
