When it comes to unity, no belief system has fought harder for it than Christianity. From its very beginning—born in the midst of one of the most chaotic, divisive periods in history—the early followers of Jesus set out to do what seemed impossible: unite people from every corner of the world. These early missionaries, like Paul, didn’t just preach to one group or one culture. They traveled the vast Roman empire, sharing the message of Jesus with Jews, Greeks, Romans, Macedonians, Africans, Cretans, and Phrygians—just to name a few. They reached men, women, children—slaves, freedmen, and citizens alike—each speaking different languages, yet all brought together under one unifying faith.

And how did they do it? Not with force, but with love. They endured suffering, served others, and modeled the life of the very Savior they followed. But as the church grew, so did the challenges. The fight for unity got tougher. The early church had to face down division, favoritism, and cliques, all while keeping their eyes on the bigger picture: a faith that was stronger together. Time and again, the Apostles stepped up, reminding their followers to stick together, handle disagreements with grace, and stay focused on the mission.

It’s a lesson that still rings true today—whether you're a believer or not. Abraham Lincoln famously echoed King Solomon when he said, “A house divided against itself cannot stand.” That same principle applies to our businesses, whether you're running your own brokerage or managing one of the largest lenders in the country. Division doesn’t just slow us down; it drains the joy out of success.

If we want more than just long careers—if we want fulfilling ones—we have to make unity a priority. And that starts by finding ways to bridge the gaps that naturally form between people, rather than widening them. In this episode of Success by The Book, Coach Bill Hart, Dale Vermillion, and Kyle Draper are diving into this topic, offering their best advice on how to win the battle for unity. With compassion, conviction, and a good dose of humility, they’ll show us how to keep our teams—and ourselves—united for success.
