Your Emotions Are Valid, But They Are Not the Truth

God created you with emotions—they are real, and they matter. When you feel sadness, anger, fear, or even joy, those feelings are valid. They point to what your heart is experiencing in the moment. But while emotions are real, they are not always reliable indicators of truth.

Feelings can rise and fall with circumstances. One day you may feel confident and loved; the next you may feel unworthy and alone. But the truth of God’s Word never changes. Jeremiah 17:9 reminds us, “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?” That doesn’t mean emotions are bad, but it does mean we cannot let them define reality.

The truth is, even when you feel abandoned, God promises, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5). When you feel unworthy, His Word declares, “You are precious in my eyes, honored, and I love you” (Isaiah 43:4).

Emotions can be a doorway to bring your heart honestly before God, but truth anchors you. Tonight, let yourself feel, but don’t let feelings write your story. God’s truth has the final word, and His truth sets you free.
