When I was at my doctor's office for a regular appointment, my doctor noticed I was having a bipolar manic episode and called an ambulance to pick me up and take me to emergency at the hospital.

In this episode I talk about how that happened and why it motivated me to talk openly about this mental health disorder.

Bipolar disorder is a mental health condition characterized by extreme mood swings, ranging from manic or hypomanic episodes to depressive episodes. These shifts can significantly impact a person's energy levels, ability to think clearly, and day-to-day functioning.

Bipolar disorder is more common than many people realize, affecting roughly 2.8% of adults in the U.S. each year. Importantly, it's not just moodiness or "having a bad day." It's a complex condition with biological, genetic, and environmental influences. CONNECT WITH ED:
