Vlad Mykhnenko is Professor of Geography and Political Economy at the University of Oxford and a Fellow of St. Peter's College, Oxford. He is an economic geographer, specialising in geographical political economy. His academic focus is on challenging the conventional wisdom of urban and regional development within the transition economies of eastern Europe (especially, Polish Upper Silesia and the Ukrainian Donbas).
