This Refugee Week 2025, we, One Strong Voice, are speaking for more people than just ourselves. Join us as Nico, an OSV member, chats with Jonathan, Madeline, and Maggy about the incredible power of community for those with lived experience.

One Strong Voice (OSV) is a national movement led by people with lived experience of the asylum and immigration system, driving meaningful change for many.

Meet Our Guests

Jonathan (OSV Member)

Jonathan is an Expert by Experience Manager at Refugee Action, a Trustee at Caplor Horizons, and a One Strong Voice Representative at the Strategic Engagement Group (SEG). He brings a decade of community engagement experience from organizations such as Freedom from Torture, NHS England, and City of Sanctuary Manchester. Jonathan champions refugee empowerment through grassroots campaigning, frontline services, and the Expert by Experience Steering Group. His primary focus is on strengthening meaningful refugee participation.

Madeline (OSV Member)

Madeline is a mum, an excellent cook, and a Londoner. She is passionate about helping her local community, including refugees and women. Madeline joined OSV last year and is truly dedicated to supporting people in her local community, whether they are refugees, women, or anyone in need of assistance.

Maggy Moyo

Maggy Moyo is a nationally recognized campaigner, community organiser, and lived experience leader. She is the Campaigns Lead at These Walls Must Fall, under Right to Remain, where she leads grassroots efforts to challenge the UK’s hostile environment. Maggy is also the Founder of Unified Resilience CIC, a Manchester-based organization led by and for people with lived experience. Unified Resilience CIC offers trauma-informed support, leadership development, and shared spaces for healing and solidarity between migrant communities and their British allies.
