Former Russian software engineer Yaroslav Barsukov, who lives in Vienna, talks with me about his just-released novel Sleeping Worlds Have No Memory. Highly lauded—in fact, it was nominated for several awards—Barsukov weaves fantasy and science fiction into a tale of two combative kingdoms and the mythical tower that could save or doom them all.
One is a larger kingdom, and the other is a smaller territory. Although the tale came out two years before the Ukraine/Russia war, some heavy coincidences resonate between the two conflicts. A topic we discuss!
