Fire at Will - Rob chats to Nina Webb from Community Law Otago about what exactly has the Minister for Workplace Relations announced? The Minister, Brooke van Velden, has announced a proposal to change employment law so that employees earning over $180,000 a year will no longer be able to raise personal grievances for unjustified dismissal as per s103 of the Employment relations act. That means if they’re fired, they can’t challenge the dismissal process or its fairness through the usual legal channels.
