We create with the focus of our attention. What we pay attention to grows in our experience of life. That's why it's so important to pay attention to the emotions tied to every thought because acting on that thought will increase our experience of the emotion tied to it.

The more we pay attention to what is wonderful in our life, the larger part of our life it becomes. I love my wife. I'm happy to just be in the same house she's in. I love playing tennis and am happy and proud of how well my body works when I play. I love my meditation practice for all the wisdom, insight and guidance it gives me. Gratitude works because it has us focusing on what is good in our life, and that focus of attention grows that good.

When I feel down, I know it's because of negative thoughts in my mind. I know the way to minimize their impact is to accept their existence in my mind and choose not to act on the thoughts. With enough acceptance, more accurate and positve thoughts take their place.

We can choose where we put our attention, thereby choosing what we create more of in our life.
