It is so very important to have a way that works for us to determine what and who we should trust. For me, my validation method is a deep inner congruence in my body. When a thought is accompanied by a deep sense of peace and alignment or inspired joy, I know I can trust that thought.

Sometimes the thought is "mostly" congruent. At those times I find it useful to acknowledge the competing negative thought and ask myself is the negative thought accurate. Almost all the time I don't think and feel the negative thought is accurate. That acceptance of the negative thought's existence and my choice not to act on it, increases my inner congruence inspired by my positive thought.

I've encountered spiritual programs that say, "You don't have the luxury of having a negative thought". I've never met anyone who has never had a negative thought. We all have negative thoughts. We also have the freedom to choose to act on those negative thoughts or not.

I believe and trust enough enough to act on thoughts that have positive emotions attached to them; thoughts I believe uplift us all.

If you'd like my help in becoming more aware and accepting of your thoughts and the freedom to choose to act on them or not, I'm here for you. You can contact me at [email protected] to schedule a coaching session. The first one is free :)
