She discusses the feelings of loneliness and disorientation while living in exile. She earned a master’s degree in education in Iran in the 1960s, was a professor of history and geography for more than twenty years, and was head of a high school. She was the editor-in-chief of "Jonbeche," a newspaper opposed to the Shah’s regime.
