In the next few episodes I am going to talk about five of the writings or lists from the Oxford Group that have influenced the 12 step program. The first list I would like to speak about the six steps that every left with Bill Wilson, (the cofounder of Alcoholics Anonymous),. It was a handwritten list which I think very succinctly summed up the 12 steps as we know them today. I am not sure how they got these steps. I am sure that their ideas were the result of the Oxford group. However, I. It is my feeling that Abby ’m quite certain that they were not made a list somewhere. It is my feeling that Ebby, after becoming sober as a result of his affiliation with the Oxford Group, and these steps from what he had learned.

I have never believe that Ebby Thatcher received enough accreditation for his part in the 12 step program. On the other hand, that’s me. Ebby would probably not have cared one way or the other. It seems to me that he would have been happy just knowing he contributed to the welfare of others.

Below, are the six steps that Ebby gave to Bill W. in a handwritten note.

1. A Complete deflation.
2. Dependence on God.
3. A Moral inventory.
4. Confession.
5. Restitution.
6. Continued work with others in need.

Below, I am also showing the chart that I have made up to show the relationship of these lists to the 12 steps.
