A band that I fell in love with while trading tapes in 1987, sounded less "Punk" but had a great folk vibe and a fierce anxiety to them. New Model Army became one band I had to search for over the years, before the internet that was a task.

I got tapes, or CDs of theirs over the years, watching their tour schedules and never getting to see them live. Once I had the chance, but they changed cities and I had a commitment that next morning. The "Ever Touring Band" was always playing great shows (as the bootlegs indicate) but just out of reach.

I finally got to see them in 2024 in Strasbourg France, and they lived up to my expectations. Their live show was as if I had seen Live Aid, or Pink Floyd with Syd Barrett.

I got to speak to Justin Sullivan again after 15 years, and cover a lot of ground. Here we discuss the new album "Unbroken" and the continuing themes through his music.
