Strength to Strength welcomed David Anderson to discuss the church’s development in understanding who Jesus is.

Is the Trinity just an abstract doctrine? Why did early Christians fight so hard to define who Jesus is? In this two-part episode, David Anderson breaks down the Trinity and Christology in simple terms showing how they are not just abstract ideas but central to our salvation, worship, and daily discipleship.

In this Part 1, we will explore what it means to do theology, its risks, and why it’s a necessary Christian task. It will also explain why the Trinity and Christology aren’t just two doctrines among many: rather, they are the heartbeat of Christianity itself.

In Part 2, we will explain the fundamentals of the Trinity and of Christology as well as exploring their scriptural and historical bases. It will, moreover, elaborate on both doctrines and explore why they are important for the Church. Ultimately, how can these realities help us grow in faithfulness to and fellowship with God?

An interactive question-and-answer period follows.

“The son of God became the son of man, so the son of man can become the Son of God.”
