3. Tales from Honduras with Dave Farkas
Manage episode 342228926 series 3390510
Today, let’s travel through time and space to Central America in the 1990s. My guest spent several years exploring whitewater paddling in Honduras at the behest of Dick Eustis, who helped sponsor his crew’s travels in hopes of opening up commercial opportunities in the region.
We take a deep dive into the Mame River and Rio Yaguala, a couple of highlights from his travels. Hear how his crew rolls the dice in the name of exploration when they encounter one of the most unique features you’ll ever find on a river.
In this episode, Dave references numerous California classics such as The Middle Kings, Devil’s Postpile and 49 to Bridgeport, in comparison to the runs encountered in Honduras. Those California runs are considered some of the best and in some cases some of the more difficult runs in California, if not the entire United States.
