Dr. Mike Joy is a freshwater ecologist and advocate from New Zealand, and senior research fellow in the School of Government at the University of Victoria, Wellington. His research relates to freshwater fish populations, and water quality and quantity, particularly in response to land use changes and the impacts of industrial dairy farming, and more recently into food systems and applied economics. He continues to have a huge influence on social and political awareness of the degradation of waterways in New Zealand, and continues to fight for meaningful policy change.
