Welcome to part 2 of the Teacher-Gamer interview with Michael Franti. Build a frame with writing and PLAY! There is perhaps no greater skill than being able to fully express yourself by, with, and in writing. Happy Father's Day to my dad Ricardo and all the dads! Including Michael who became a dad again(!) a month ago with the birth of his daughter Lua Behjat Franti. Congratulations to Michael, Sara, Taj and the Franti family.

"The chorus of a song is the thesis of an essay."

Zach and Michael delve deeper into what play means for the lifelong musician, artist, activist and community builder. They explore the top skills teachers can use to inspire students to follow their passions and bring about better listening, flexibility, curiosity, creativity, resourcefulness and magic in learners.

"You can have an incredible effect on the trajectory of a person's life by helping them to learn a new way of thinking about things."

In addition to revealing what is the most valuable skill he has ever learned, Michael shares a deeply moving story about one of his mentors and what makes mentorship critical for young people.

This is the second of 2 episodes.
