Tareq Hadhad grew up in Syria where his father ran a successful chocolate factory. His father’s livelihood was crumbled and destroyed due to the war. Tareq and his family eventually made their way to Canada where they re-established their chocolate business, Peace by Chocolate, and recreated the chocolates they once exported across the Middle East. Their story has turned into an international phenomenon not only because of their immense success but Tareq's avid community activism inspired by his love for his native home, his adopted home and of course, for chocolates!
