Join Joel, Kim and Chris as they look ahead to this year’s US Open Championships with a fresh reaction to the men’s and women’s singles draws, which sees Iga Swiatek seek to back up her Wimbledon win and make a play for the No.1 ranking. Will Jannik Sinner looking to put aside recent illness to continue his dominance on hard courts?
With Carlos Alcaraz handed the more difficult section of the draw, including an opener with Reilly Opelka, the trio debate if anyone can stop another Sinner-Alcaraz Slam Final. They discuss who amongst the young Americans may challenge, how well Jack Draper will fare and most importantly, how Jaume Munar will get on against Gabriel Diallo in a possible Round 2 clash!
Meanwhile, in the women’s draw, World No.1 Aryna Sabalenka finds herself in a stacked quarter with recent Cincy finalist Jasmine Paolini, young dangerous Dane Clara Tauson, and her recent conqueror Elena Rybakina. They also chat Coco Gauff’s serve in light of the news she has hired Sabalenka’s former serve serve biomechanics expert, and they look ahead to wildcard Venus Williams’s opener against Karolina Muchova.
With Italians Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori defending their US Open Mixed Doubles title, albeit in very different fashion (and with a big pay rise!) Joel, Kim and Chris also capture their thoughts on the inaugural pre-tournament mixed doubles, which many have lauded as unworthy of a Slam title.
