"Give it a go" was just one of Jack Davey's many successful radio programs across the Macquarie radio network in the 1950s (Including 3AW in Melbourne). Whilst generally based in Sydney and with programs emanating from 2GB, Jack did travel the country hosting his programs. The same John Howard who would go on to be Prime Minister of Australia from 11 March 1996 – 3 December 2007.
