Bible Reference: John 5:1-18

“I can’t, sir,” the sick man said, “for I have no one to put me into the pool when the water bubbles up.”

Jesus asked a man who had become debilitatingly sick and lived as a beggar- barely scraping by for thirty eight YEARS... a powerful and offensive question.

"Do you want to get well?"

Let's be honest. It's easier to stay stuck in our station of life and to remain in our comfortable dysfunction than it is to get up and walk in all that God has for us. That's because getting up requires sacrifice and an overhaul of all that we've come to experience as our home and identity.

However, Jesus reveals that God is in the business of provoking our comforts and commitments if they keep us from Him and all that He has intended for us and for His glory.
