Many thanks to Rashie Jain for joining me on this episode of The Art of Medicine with Dr. Andrew Wilner!

Rashie is an engineer and Co-Founder of Marvix.AI, her second start-up. Rashie observed that many physicians struggle with high administrative burdens, especially medical specialists who spend more time with patients and deal with complex cases. With the advent of large language models, she created an "ambient scribe" that takes notes during a patient encounter, organizes them, and presents them for review as a finished product. With just a little tweaking, doctors can embed these notes into the electronic medical record (EMR).

I tried out Rashie's software at the recent American Academy of Neurology meeting in San Diego, CA. Her Co-Founder played the role of a migraine patient, and we chatted for about 10 minutes. Truth be told, the ambient scribe did a great job capturing the essential details. I could have edited it in just a couple of minutes, which would save time compared to typing it into the EMR myself!
