Norwegian manufacturer Enerin has announced that it will supply a 1.2MW (3 41TR) high-temperature heat pump using helium to pharmaceutical company Roche Switzerland that will produce steam for the chemical production process at its Basel/Kaiseraugst facility.
The HoegTemp heat pump, a V12 model, will be installed during the first half of 2026 and will produce steam year-round at a pressure of 6bar (87psi) with a delivery temperature of 171°C (340°F). It will use waste heat between 30–40°C (86–104°F) from a cooling circuit as a heat source during the summer and river water at 2–4°C (36–39°F) in the winter. The heat pump will also provide cooling.
