THE CHAIR (S1/Ep32) — The Mirror from Ms. Troy's Shop
Hello Beautiful People,

I’m Your Host Dreme.

I’m a Black woman, an educator turned tech entrepreneur but still an educator. Building a platform called THE CHAIR is a Black and Brown centered tech platform dedicated to supporting people on their hair journey. You can design hairboards, connect to hair stylists, and share hair care tips all in one space for a more joyous and streamlined experience. I built THE CHAIR Podcast to highlight hair journeys. A reminder to keep creating magic. As people sit in THE CHAIR you will get more than just hair stories. You will be immersed into experiences surrounding education, entrepreneurship, and identity. I hope you enjoy listening to my stories and the stories of my guests as we sit in THE CHAIR.

THE CHAIR (S1/Ep32) — The Mirror from Ms. Troy's Shop

I had the beautiful opportunity of meeting Jha D many years back thanks to my cousin and her Mic Husband D. Ruff (the voice over in THE CHAIR commercial) and I have been a fan ever since from her poetry to her space creation abilities. Jha D is one of the architects who led in the creation of the "The Embrace" that sits on the Boston Commons. She is Living Black History. It was an absolute honor to have her on my podcast and it was a joy to hear her stories in the world of education, architecture, and identity. How many Black architects do you know?

Come listen to Jha D as she talks what it is like having BIG hair with the numerous hair stories she shares and how she ended up with a mirror from her childhood hair salon in her house.

Her Bio:

Jha D is a SpaceMaker. Through her work as a designer at MASS Design Group and artist within the Greater Boston area, she is dedicated to curating spaces of expanded narratives, opportunities for belonging and moments of deep joy. For the past two decades, she has organized events that unapologetically center the experiences of BIPOC and LGTBQIA+ artists. Her architectural work is focused on healing, radical truth telling and spatializing memory.
