In what has to be one of the most intriguing, confounding, and flat-out jaw-dropping flaps in the annals of ufology, a roughly 300-day stretch in 1970 and '71 plunged Finland into an unprecedented wave of high strangeness. Citizens across the country were left stunned by the sudden emergence of tiny, space-suit-clad beings—entities that seemed to hail from a reality heavier, slower, and infinitely stranger than our own… creatures who proved more than capable of harming anyone foolish enough to try to capture one.
