Transitioning from K12 teaching to corporate instructional design can feel overwhelming. You have some of the skills that an instructional designer may use, but there's still a lot to learn (and framing your previous experience in the right way can be a challenge).
However, people like Sara Stevick have made it their mission to offer support and guidance to those who are making the transition. Sara Stevick leads a free volunteer initiative called Teaching: A Path to L&D, and it's dedicated to helping teachers break into the instructional design space.
She has also made the transition herself...landing a corporate ID job at a major financial institution after teaching for years.
In this live session recording, we discuss:
-The path you should take to land an ID job
-The biggest corporate ID skill gaps faced by teachers
-How to evaluate paid programs
-How to stay confident and present your experience in the best light
