On this episode of The Emo Hour, your favorite emo duo Katie and Nani kick things off with a classic emotional check-in. Nani goes full delulu mode (in the best way) and gets a little spiritual over seeing the angel number 11 again and again and again, while Katie shares the cutest story ever about her daughter’s new obsession with "dancing dresses" — cue the tiny emo tears.

But the main event? An epic interview with Tyler Schlagenhauf of Mylo Bybee, the Boise-based indie alt-rock band described as “organized chaos” in the absolute best way. Tyler dives into the origins of the band name (spoiler: it involves finger steaks), how the band came together during the early days of the pandemic, and what it was like opening for emo royalty like Hawthorne Heights, The Spill Canvas, and Ace Enders of The Early November.

They also talk about Mylo Bybee’s upcoming tour, new music on the horizon, and some exciting projects in the works that fans won’t want to miss.

To close out, Katie and Nani share their “emo lyrics of the day.” Nani brings the drama with a piano rock classic from Something Corporate, but ultimately, it was Katie's lyric choice from Mylo Bybee's song Fade Me Out that steals the show.

Whether you’re feeling nostalgic or just looking for your next indie rock obsession, this episode hits all the right notes.
