At just 30 years old, Siddiq Kamara is running to become sheriff - and if elected, he would make history as the youngest sheriff in the United States. Kamara is running on a platform that challenges everything we think we know about what a sheriff should be. Not just courthouse security and gun permits, but a hub of training, education, and prevention. Not annual qualifications, but constant scenario-based training so officers don't panic or overreact. Not politics, but integrity rooted in his oath to the Constitution.

The question isn't just whether Kamara is ready for this role. It's whether Delaware County is ready for what he represents - a younger, more diverse generation demanding that tragedies like Fanta's death never happen again.

Some find his vision inspiring. Others find it unsettling. But one thing is certain: this conversation can no longer be avoided.
