In Episode 22 we present our annual interview with the CEO of Assiniboia Downs, Darren Dunn!

ASD is celebrating their 68th season of live racing, bringing Millions of dollars into the Manitoba economy while creating over 1000 jobs. Fans flock from across Manitoba, Western Canada and the USA to enjoy the sights, sounds and scenery and lay a few friendly wagers.

2.55- We open the discussion with some memories about the late Ken "Hank" Hendricks, a sportsman whose record of 1685 winning rides at the Downs will never be eclipsed.

The excitement of the Downs has now expanded to Australia, where the international dateline is making watching the races a Sky Sports favorite of morning viewers down under!

Operated by the non-profit Manitoba Jockey Club, the regular schedule of Tuesday and Wednesday evenings will be augmented with six Monday slates, including the Manitoba Derby on August 4th.

But the modern facility goes beyond hosting the Sport of Kings- it's part of the fabric of our community.

You'll hear Darren speak about the tremendous line-up of community events slated for the summer, including gatherings focused on fun, food, kids, and music.

"If you can think it, we can do it!"
