Charlotte Dujardin: Disturbing Abuse Signs in her Story Part 6. Dressage is Broken Podcast #dressage
Manage episode 476601785 series 3654591
Charlotte Dujardin's autobiography, The Girl On The Dancing Horse, was a particularly difficult read for me. Autobiographies can provide a window into an athlete’s journey—the highs, the struggles, and sometimes, the warning signs we only recognize in hindsight. In Charlotte’s case, her book reveals more than just her rise to the top on Valegro. It offers disturbing clues—clues that, when pieced together, paint a bigger picture of what may have been in place long before that fateful video surfaced.
Originally broadcast as a video series, in this episode I begin by revealing the events surrounding her training of Valegro, the horse that shot her to International dressage stardom, her feelings about the possibility of losing the ride on Valegro, riding other horses and problems with Valegro in the run up to the 2012 Olympics.
