In this Extra Time edition of the The Inner Huddle Perry discusses why it's not beneficial to judge your child's progress simply based on how they perform in matches. Matches help children learn the game and develop intuition and understanding, but, in terms of football development, one to three minutes contact time with the ball isn't enough. The result, and how your child played, is also not a good guide to how well your child is developing. A very important episode! Please visit Perry's blog site and sign up for his monthly newsletter for opportunities for you and your child to work with him privately and to hear about all his latest blogs, podcasts, top tips and advice to help your child fulfil their potential. www.perrycocking.com
The topic is taken from a chapter in Perry's new book - Did You Win, Did You Score...? How to help your child succeed at football and life.
