With the rapid expansion of the private prison industrial system, more human beings (inmates) are needed to increase the profit margin of the prison corporations. Legislation such as “Three Strikes Your In,” police procedures like “Stop and Frisk” and “Wrongful Convictions” help ensure private corporations have a growing supply of poor (mostly Black and Latino) citizens to increase the company’s bottom line. Certain citizens, by way of birth and social economic status, have a high statistical probability of being locked up. So what will you do if you’re locked up?
