It’s an unfortunate fact that every single one of us will experience the loss of someone we love in our lifetime. Losing someone dear is a tragic experience no matter what your age or stage of life you are at. However, dealing with loss as a young person can be a real struggle, especially when balancing this with university life and studies. As many young people have little exposure to bereavement, coming to terms with loss can be a difficult challenge as a student. University is meant to be a time for self-discovery and growing, but the process of coming to terms with grief can often be the biggest test of all. Amy Wall speaks to fellow Falmouth students, who have experienced loss, to find out how they have dealt with the challenges of grief while completing their university studies.
