Darrell Bock is Executive Director of Cultural Engagement and Senior Research Professor of New Testament Studies at Dallas Theological Seminary. He has authored over 40 books including well-regarded commentaries on Luke and Acts and studies of the historical Jesus.

In this lecture, Bock examines a portion of the Luke/Acts historical account in which John the Baptist as John the Baptist attempts to dispel the belief that he is the Christ. John reiterates that he baptizes with water but one stronger is coming who will baptize with the holy spirit. The holy spirit is a sign of a new era where Jews and Gentiles can be made clean and set apart as believers.
