My friend, Jeff Young went into a rapid and shocking descent off the mountain of life and in just seventeen days left his body. The experience brought me face to face with the dying process and death itself. It was shocking and devastating to my best friend, whose husband was a well known runner in Anchorage and yet her strength and spiritual consciousness gave both of us a chance to step into the new design for preparing for someone's death as well as the sacred ceremonies that await us and our grief when we make room for them.
