In this episode, we discuss the delicate balance of working with "thirds" while maintaining the security of a primary partnership. "Thirds" can be defined as people or things outside of the relationship, such as kids, parents, in-laws, co-workers, social gatherings, religion, work, etc. There is a fantasy that all of these outside relationships can be managed on the same plane but, this is simply not true. There is always a hierarchy of attention we are forced to work with and we need to be on the same page with our partner in order to confront these situations skillfully. Do you know where you and your relationship stands when it comes to interactions with "thirds"?
