On this edition of The Research Report, Dr. Joel O. Iverson, communication professor at the University of Montana, discusses risk and crisis communication as it pertains to wildfires. Iverson works with U.S. Forest Service on communication strategies as community fire destruction has become a major national (and international) crisis, as witnessed this past summer with the fire in the town of Lahaina in Maui, Hawaii, or the 2018 fire in Paradise, California. The Research Report is produced by the Department of Communication at Augusta University. Dr. David Bulla is the host and producer. The audio engineer is Jasmine Garcia. The podcast is recorded in the TVC Lab in University Hall on the Summerville Campus of AU. The opinions are those of the guest and the host, not those of Augusta University.
