In this episode, I sit down with my new friend and fellow homeschooling mom, Candace MacDaniels. Candace’s story is one of control, surrender, and challenging faith. After receiving a kidney transplant 25 years ago, she became immunocompromised and later developed autonomic dysfunction. Convinced that motherhood wasn’t in the cards due to her health, she set out to chase her dreams—until she met her husband.

What followed was a painful journey of losing 7 precious babies and wrestling with the need to control what felt out of control. But through years of grief and seeking God’s comfort, Candace eventually welcomed 2 beautiful girls.

Candace also shares how God used her health challenges to lead her into homeschooling—something she never thought possible due to financial pressures and student loans. But one exhausting workday changed everything, helping her realize the need to be more present with her family. Her health issues haven't gotten better but she’s learned to grab onto the Lord and her life has become a light to many around her.
