Our next guest hails from Cape Town, but his musical talent transported him to the streets of New York. His musical journey began at the age of six when his curiosity led him to sneak out of his home to watch his father’s reggae band rehearse. The rest is history. His sound blends reggae, jazz, African music, and gospel.

This self-taught drummer has worked alongside prominent South Africa and international artists such as Larry Klien, Sona Jobarteh, Terry Lyne Carrington, Kris Davis, Freshly Ground, Mandisi Dyantyis, Maquis Hill, Elena Pinderhughes, Sibongile Khumalo, McCoy Mrubata, Judith Sephuma, Ruth Tafebe, Luciano, Eric Donaldson, Gloria Bosman and many more. Today, he joins us to talk about his new album: Ithemba Elitsha – A New Hope. He describes this body of work a a tribute to community, faith, and the power of dreams. He will also share more information about his upcoming tour in July.
