The world is quieter now, but for two young coyotes, the night fills with the cries of a legend stalking the riverbanks searching for souls.

Tonight’s story is the first of two parts of “La Leyenda de Marisa Gritaluna” by Juan C. Moreno, who knows the mountains of Colorado like the back of his paw and will be your guide across a wilderness of action, adventure, and mystery. This reimagined folktale first appeared in Selections of Anthropomorphic Regalements: Volume 1, edited by the late K.C. Alpinus and published by Goal Publications but now available from Fenris Publishing. You can find more of his stories in “Reclamation Project: Year One,” “ROAR Volume 11,” the Furry Writers’ Guild’s latest anthology, “Tales from the Guild: Blood and Water,” or Juan’s DeviantArt gallery.
