Recorded at the Market Photo Workshop Library, the 5th episode of This Audio Is Visual features Tshepiso Mabula a photographer from Limpopo. They are based in Johannesburg, Soweto. The 45-minute-plus conversation with Mabula touches on a number of topics namely Identity, growing up in a staunch Christian household and their upcoming exhibition UKUGRUMBA, a project she developed as a Tierney Fellowship under the mentorship of Bra’ Buyaphi Mdledle.

“UKUGRUMBA, which means to “dig up” in isiXhosa, is a body of work motivated by my family’s trauma as a result of activism in South Africa's struggle against apartheid, liberation and reconciliation effects within present day South Africa,“ elaborates Tshepiso.
The exhibition opens on the 21st of August at The Market Photo Workshop.
