For those of us of a certain age, was there anything more relaxing in our years of innocence and escapism than wandering off to the local record store and flipping through countless racks of vinyl LPs? Not for me, at least.
I was fortunate enough to have a great place to go hunt for new or sometimes used records and just avoid the responsibilities of my teenage years. The downside was only the spending of money that didn't come easily. The upside was usually an hour's worth of vinyl euphoria once the needle dropped. But which one to choose? What would help me make that difficult decision? The listings of the tracks? Maybe...but almost always it was the beauty of the cover art that would catch my attention and make me explore the album even further.
Ah what a life.
Join my neighbor Jerry and I as we relive those thrilling days of yesteryear and discuss our personal vinyl collections in terms of the beauty that we found on the covers, which often times matched that of the music itself.
