Ep. 8 Career Transitions PT 1: My journey to a new career
Manage episode 458151921 series 3628844
In this solo episode, I’m taking you through my personal journey of career transitions—a path that’s been shaped by lessons, growth and a deep understanding of the courage it takes to step into the unknown.
From my very first job at Tim Hortons, where I learned the power of connection and multitasking, to building foundational skills in retail, banking, and eventually the Ministry of the Attorney General, I’m reflecting on the milestones that shaped me. These roles weren’t just jobs—they were stepping stones, each adding something invaluable to my journey.
I also share the deeply personal moments that intersected with my career: my mom’s heart attack, planning my wedding, becoming a mother and the heartbreak of my dad’s cancer diagnosis. Life doesn’t pause for work, but it’s in these moments that we grow the most.
As I reflect on this journey, I’m also diving into what it takes to prepare for a career transition, sharing four essential questions to guide you through the process.
If you’ve ever felt that tug to move forward, to honour who you’ve become and to leap into something new, this episode is for you.
Stay tuned for Part Two, where I’ll share the “why” behind my leap into Real Estate and the lessons I’ve learned along the way.
