A flashback into a diary entry written by Hanaya’s mother during her early years as a young single mom. In a quiet, sacred moment, she pours out a prayer over little Hanaya—committing to raise her not by the world’s standards, but as the Lord’s girl.
Have you ever wondered why some teens, even at 16 or 17, already walk with a depth of faith and maturity that seems far beyond their years? Though still growing, many of them carry a strong sense of identity, values, and purpose grounded in God. It’s rare—but it’s often rooted in an intentional environment created by parents, or a single parent, for their children’s Godly growth. They authentically model their own walk with Jesus to their kids.
God is after the gaze of this generation. He is after their focus. So, as a parent, how do you help your kids perceive Jesus not as a vague murky distant concept, but as a living and dynamic presence in everything they do? What are your priorities when you pray for your kids? What do you think matters the most from an eternal perspective?
If they learn to engage with God early and discern the voice of the Holy Spirit, they’ll be equipped to make wise choices, resist pitfalls, and boldly represent Jesus wherever they go.
We don’t train ourselves so we don’t train our children. Everything you believe in has to be practical and applicable for your children. That means you yourself need to be fully convinced. Teach them how to engage with the Lord. For your kids, you should always present the supernatural to them. You should always give them the alternative to ask God for help first. Teach them to pray first. Teach them to believe God’s Word first and encourage them not to wait for someone else to do it for them.
