Manage episode 492416592 series 2829170
I wanted to find out more about AI and so after reading the book, 'AI Valley: Microsoft, Google and the Trillion-Dollar Race to Cash in on Artificial Intelligence,' I spoke to the author, Gary Rivlin and he kindly agreed to come on the show.
Gary isn't just another tech commentator – he's a pulitzer prize winning Investigative reporter and author. During his time at the New York Times his work covered transformative moments in Silicon Valley such as the dot com boom.
What makes Gary unique is his rare combination of technical understanding and access to the people who have driven AI from the 1950s to today's AI gold rush. We hear about the ambitions and vision of such people as Mustafa Suleyman, Reid Hoffman and many others. We also hear about the competition between big tech such as Microsoft, Google, Meta v. start ups such as Chatgpt etc.
If you're working or a student, retiree, or stay-at-home parent, I think you will find this conversation useful.
In the interview You'll hear:
- Why the AI breakthrough finally happened now and where it's truly heading
- How to use AI as your competitive advantage rather than fear it as a threat
- Which AI warnings from industry insiders you should actually worry about
- Practical strategies to protect and advance your career or enhance your daily life in an AI-driven world
By the end of this episode, you'll have an above average understanding of the history of AI and knowledge which I think will help you.
Here's my suggestion: Listen with a pen and paper ready as Gary shares specific, actionable advice that could transform your approach to work, life and career.
See the interview as a masterclass in an introduction to the history and use of Artificial Intelligence!
