City Details:
Halcyon City's adjectives:
- Vivid
- Messy
- Potent/ial
Boswell Park:
A stripe of greenery running through the heart of the city.
- Reputation: Kinda nice but a bit pointless, people will visit there when the weather is nice but otherwise not really thought about much. Haunted.
- True Name: Lonely food carts, ducks in the lake, shade in the summer.
- Landmark: The Memorial. Location: In the plaza, near the bandstand. A true name: Dozens of abstract marble statues, plaques with poetry, a good place to shelter from the rain.
Starlight District:
The (spiritual) home of Halcyon City's extraterrestial immigrant community.
- Reputation: Otherworldly, a true melting pot, kaleidoscopic, some friction but a real sense of community.
- True Name: An avalanche of exciting smells, a sense of belonging, the best food you've never heard of.
- Landmark: The Galaxy Strip, a space exploration-themed diner popular with teens. Address: Corner of Hope[St.] and Dreams[Blvd.] True Name: Bottomless Noodles, The Place to Be, Known for Customizable Noodle Bar, Goofy but charming mementos of home.
- Resident: Pops (he/they). Primary line cook at Galaxy Strip, a moth/mantis alien with four arms and battered wings. True Name: Peaceful puzzler and soda pop fan.
Phoenix Academy:
A floating academy training powered youth from across the world.
- Reputation: Pinnacle of Education. A source of incredible hopes and undefined dangers.
- True Name: Comforting Order, Beautiful Chaos, Nest of New Beginnings.
Hazard Engine:
A giant robot once piloted against the city, now disarmed and reclaimed as a part of the city.
- Reputation: Inventive, Gritty, Lots of neon, nooks and crannies, tech you can make something out of.
- True Name: The smell of machinery, a dimly lit bar, a claustrophobic liberty.
- Location: The Bridge, the robot's old control centre now used for municipal council meetings. Address: In the robot's head. True Name: An awesome view, the weight of responsibility.
Events
First Event: Paying his respects, Pops sees his old rival Neutron Annie, no older than the day of the Event.
- Opinion: The people who have actually seen these echoes don't talk about it.
- Consequence: Old wounds reopen as people start to search for those long thought missing.
- Question: Are these echoes people trapped in a phantom dimension trying to get out, or snapshots only visible a few times a year?
- Consequence: Pops gets Annie's raygun out of his closet and has decided to try and find her.
- 2nd Perspective: It's not only heroes that are showing back up.
