What this episode is about: In this episode, I read from the book, "The First Prophetesses of Mami Wata" by Mama Zogbe aka Vivian Hunter. This book sets the tone for the episode as I discuss how Black Women have worked to be a part of the religious system and other systems of society neither of which were designed to be supportive or inclusive. But that is perfectly well because Black Women were never supposed to fit into any standard! Black Women are the standard; this is by ancient rite.
